Block printing is a method of placing permanent designs on surfaces by carving a pattern on a wood or linoleum block, inking it, and transferring it to the material being decorated. Most of what I print on is heavyweight archival watercolor paper, but often I will press the block into wet clay and make tiles. Once the print dries, I go back into the print and hand color it with watercolors. Many of my designs are not planned in advance. I let my hand and heart lead the way.
